Puerto Rico’s LGBTQ emergency

In January this year, Puerto Rico declared a state of emergency for 18 months to direct government resources to combat violence targeting members of the LGBTQ community. The executive order for this purpose includes appointment of new government representatives to oversee implementation and launch of app to report emergency situations. This comes in response to increased cases of femicides last year in the US territory.
