Bodemma Festival

Bodemma is a worship of goddess Gauri. It is the festival of the unmarried girls. During the festival, the image of Bodemma is prepared with natural ant-hill earth in seven layers in the shape of a gopura and is decorated with flowers, turmeric and Kumkum and it is placed in a clean and decorated courtyard. All the girls gather around the Bodemma during the evening time and they will sing and dance. They will pray to Gauri for their early and successful marriage.The festival is celebrated in Telangana state during the months of September/October.
