Protection of the Citizens for the Personal Freedom and Personal Security law

Myanmar’s new military administration amended the Protection of the Citizens for the Personal Freedom and Personal Security law. This amendment allows government authorities to enter private places, including individual’s residence. It also permits indefinite detention without permission from court and removes curbs on search, seizure, arrest, surveillance etc. The southeast Asian nation is currently under one-year state of emergency after the military took control of the government.
