Guantanamo Bay Detention Centre
The Guantanamo Bay Detention Centre was set up in 2002 in Cuba after the 9/11 terror attacks under the George W Bush administration to incarcerate foreign terror suspects. It housed around 800 inmates at its peak. However, the number declined under the Obama administration. Currently, it consists of only 40 prisoners. The Biden administration is looking to shut down this facility. This is in line with the Obama administration’s efforts.
