Axis deer

Native to Indian subcontinent, Axis deer became part of the rural island of Molokai after it was gifted by Hong Kong to the King of Hawaii in 1868. This invasive deer species lack natural predators in the island, leading to the population to explode. This is creating problems for the inhabitants as these animals are destroying crops and forest watershed amid 2-year long drought.
