International Mars Ice Mapper

International Mars Ice Mapper is a proposed ice mapping mission seeking to detect the location, depth, spatial extent and abundance of near-surface ice deposits on Mars. The objective is to understand the history of the red planet and map water-ice resources for future human missions. NASA, the Canadian Space Agency, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency and the Italian Space Agency have recently signed a statement of intent for this mission. It is expected to be launched in the early 2026.
