Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership

The Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) is a free trade agreement between 11 countries – Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, New Zealand, Singapore and Vietnam. Currently, these economies together account for 13.4% of the global GDP, making CPTPP the fourth largest free trade area after NAFTA, the EU and the RCEP. The UK government has recently initiated an inquiry on the potential of its accession into the CPTPP.
