African swine fever
African swine fever (ASF) is a viral disease affecting domestic and wild pigs. Transmission can occur via live/dead pigs and pork products as well as contaminated feed and fomites like shoes, cloths etc., due to the high environmental resistance of the ASF virus. Recently, a new form of African swine fever was identified in China – the world’s biggest pork producer. The possible cause may have been due to the illegal vaccines.
