India’s first Labour Movement Museum is to be launched in the Houseboat tourism hub, Alappuzha in the state of Kerala.
The Museum aims to showcase the history of world labour movement, by showcasing the important documents of the World Labour movement and the exhibits of Kerala’s labour movement. Conservation architect Dr Benny Kuriakose is leading the project of outlay Rs 9.95 Crore.

Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj won the SKOCH Challenger Award under “Transparency in Governance” category.
Transformational initiatives of the Ministry include the launch of SVAMITVA (Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas) Scheme, e-GramSwaraj, mActionSoft, AuditOnline and ServicePlus.

Notes:
Union Home Minister Amit Shah laid the foundation stone for establishing a unit of the Rapid Action Force (RAF) at Bhadravati, Shivamogga district in the state of Karnataka.
RAF is the specialised wing of the Central Reserve Police Force. This unit will be the first battalion of CRPF in the state and the State government has provided 50.29 acres of land for the purpose, to the CRPF. He also inaugurated various farmer-friendly projects in Bagalkot, Karnataka.

Ram Sewak Sharma, the first Director-General of the Unique Identification Development Authority of India (UIDAI), has authored a book titled “The Making of Aadhaar: World’s Largest Identity Platform”.
The book comprises of technical details regarding the legal, governance and social aspects of the Aadhar system. He also explains his experience during various bureaucratic positions and interactions with the team of Aadhar.

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ was honoured by the Hindi Writers Guild, Canada for his contribution to Hindi Literature.
The Minister was conferred with the “Sahitya Gaurav Samman” award, in a ceremony conduced virtually. The award was presented in the presence of India’s High Commissioner in Canada Ajay Bisaria.
