Lonar lake, Sur Sarovar Lake added to Ramsar site
India has added two more Ramsar sites. They are Lonar lake in Maharashtra and Sur Sarovar lake of Agra, Uttar Pradesh. The Sur Sarovar Lake is also known as Keetham Lake. The Lonar Lake is the only Crater Lake in India. The objective of Ramsar Convention is to preserve the ecological character of their wetlands of international importance. Ramsar is a place in Iran.
Online registration of non-agricultural properties begins in Telangana
On November 15, 2020, the Telangana State Government began registration of non-agricultural lands and properties through ‘Dharani’ portal. Dharani is an integrated land record management system portal. Initially only agricultural lands were registered through Dharani portal.

Draft rules under the Code on Social Security notified
The Labour minister has introduced draft rules under Code on Social Security. In order to enable unorganised workers, gig workers and platform workers to avail social security benefits, the labour ministry has provided for their self-registration on the government portal. The rules were framed by the labour ministry under the Code on Social Security, 2020. It provides for operationalization of provisions in the Code on Social Security, 2020. It is related to Employees’ Provident Fund, Employees’ State Insurance Corporation, Gratuity, Maternity Benefit, Social Security and Cess in respect of Building and Other Construction Workers, Social Security for Unorganised Workers, Gig Workers and Platform Workers.

RCEP: Largest Trade Deal signed by 15 Asian countires
On November 15, 2020, Fifteen Asia-Pacific economies signed an agreement to set up the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP). This is being considered as the world’s largest free trade bloc, on the sidelines of the ASEAN Summit in Hanoi, Vietnam. It aims to progressively lower tariffs across many areas.

On November 15, 2020, World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims was observed. The Day offers an opportunity to draw attention to the scale of devastation caused by road crashes. It gives recognition to the work of support and rescue services.

On November 15, 2020, Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton of UK won the Turkish Grand Prix and the 2020 Formula One World Drivers Championship at Istanbul. Sergio Pérez of Racing Point finished second. Sebastian Vettel of Ferrari finished third.
