The World Hemophilia Day is observed to increase awareness about the hereditary bleeding disorders. On this day, people from different parts of the world come together to share the advances in the treatment for hemophilia.

World Federation of Hemophilia

The WFH was acknowledged by WHO and official relations between the two organizations was established in 1969.

It was established by Montreal based business man Frank Schnabel. April 17 was his birthday and he suffered from severe hemophilia. It was him who established the World Federation of Hemophilia.
