Samadhan: A challenge launched by the Ministry of Human Resource Development
On April 7, 2020, the Ministry of Human Resource Development launched “Samadhan”, a challenge to address COVID-19 in the country. The mega online challenge was launched by the Innovative Cell of Ministry of Human Resources Development and AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) along with Forge and Innovation Curis.
Highlights
The “Samadhan” challenge aims to motivate the students to make new discoveries and perform new experiments and come up with solutions that will help fight COVID-19. The solutions selected are to be implemented in government hospitals, health services and other services.
Challenges of India to contain the virus
The challenges of countries in containing the virus differs from one another. This is mainly because the spread of the virus varies based on the topography. Therefore, the challenges faced by the countries are also unique. The challenges faced by India as follows
- High Population Density
- Poor Public Hygiene. This is because many people spit and sneeze on road. The UP Government banned the sale of Pan masala. This was the first step of the government to contain the virus.
- The incubation period of the virus is not yet known accurately. Incubation period is the time interval between a person being infected and showing symptoms.
- Fake News on social media
- The Lock down due to the virus is hitting the economy badly
