Rozgar Mela in Bikaner concludes

The Skill India Rozgar Mela is conducted by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. It was recently organized on 12^th and 13^th October, 2019. 100+ corporate participated in the event and 2000 youths were shortlisted.

Significance

The Mela is one of the largest job fairs organized by the NSDC. The job fair also included Kaushal Mela. Under Kaushal Mela, counselling is provided for candidates and parents as well. It helps them understand the various opportunities that are available in the skill development ecosystem.

At the mela, the aspirants have opportunities to register with PMKVY – Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana and PMKKY – Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra Yojana.

About Rozgar Mela

The program is one of the key initiatives of the NSDC. NSDC intends to provide vocational training and job opportunities to the youth through the program. In the last 18 months more than 1088 Roz Melas have been organized.

PMKVY

It is a flagship program of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. The program is implemented by the NSDC. The main objective of the program is to increase productivity and align training and certifications according to the requirement of the country. The scheme was launched in 2016 and is planned to operate till 2020. Under the scheme, around 10 million youths are aimed to be trained by 2020. The budget allocated to the scheme is Rs 12,000 crores.
