UP Panchayati Raj Minister Kailash Yadav passes away
Uttar Pradesh Panchayati Raj Minister Kailash Yadav passed away in Gurgaon after reportedly suffering a brain stroke. He was 65.
He was a senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and a cabinet Minister in the present Akhilesh Yadav government and was considered close to the SP Supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav.
About Kailash Yadav
- Yadav was born in 1951 in a village in East Uttar Pradesh’s Ghazipur district.
- He had started his political career from a rural background i.e. from holding the post of a Gram Pradhan.
- Later he was elected as a member of the UP Legislative Assembly on three occasions. Currently, he was MLA from the Jangipur constituency in Ghazipur district.
- He was a Minister of State (MoS) for Revenue and Industrial Development in the Mulayam Singh government from 2003 to 2007.
