Taliban capture Dasht-e-Archi district of Kunduz province in northern Afghanistan

Taliban militants have captured Dasht-e-Archi district of Kunduz province in northern Afghanistan after heavy fighting with local security forces.
It is the second district captured by Taliban in the northern Kunduz province which borders Tajikistan. Earlier on 20th June 2015 the militants had captured Chardara district of this province.
It should be noted the internal conditions in Afghanistan have worsened in the past few months as Afghan forces have struggled to fend off Taliban advances since US and NATO combat mission officially concluded their missions in December 2014.
