Chinese President arrives in India

Chinese President Mr. Xi Jinping has arrived in India for a 3-day visit which can change the geopolitical implications of the region. Mr. Xi is expected to come with lot of investment proposals and better relations with the neighbour more rigorously. Mr. Modi is also said to attach special significance to the visit as he broke the protocol to specially receive Mr.Jinping and his wife at the Ahmedabad international airport.
India is also reportedly post-poned the visit of the religious leader Dalai Lama to New Delhi so his visit may not coincide with Mr. Jinping’s visit and cast a shadow of doubt on India’s willingness to extend a hand of friendship to China. This is the first time when such a high-profile dignitary from China has started his visit from Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
The security arrangements have been beefed up in and around the city. The visit of Mr. Jinping has come at a time when Indian forces are dealing with the Chinese troops who have entered the Indian territory. The Indian side has already stated that the border disputes will be taken up during the talks and India will present its interests and concerns.
The Chinese Primier has already signed 3 pacts with India within a few hours of his visit. They are to develop sister city pact between Guangzhou in China and Ahmedabad and setting up of an industrial park in the state.
Mr.Modi is also expected to play his cards around the cultural diplomacy and has made all arrangements to present India as an emerging superpower contrary to the views Chinese have about India.
