Mr. Vinod Kumar Duggal appointed as the Governor of Manipur
Mr. Vinod Kumar Duggal, the former Home Secretary has been appointed the new Governor of Manipur.
About Vinod Kumar Duggal
An Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1968 batch, retired as union home secretary in March 2007.
He will replace the present Governor of the state, Ashwani Kumar, who was given an additional charge of Manipur, while being a Governor of Nagaland.
Previously, he was a member of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), the apex body for disaster management in India, which is headed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
He also worked as municipal commissioner of Delhi from 1996 to 2000.
