Coast Guard Ship C-402 commissioned at Naval Dockyard in Mumbai
Indian Coast Guard Ship C-402, the second of the series of 36 Interceptor boats designed and built by L&T, Surat was commissioned at Naval Dockyard in Mumbai
- 30 m long Interceptor Boat with 90 tonnes displacement
- Max. speed of 45 knots
- Fitted with state-of-the-art navigation and communication equipment and medium range armament.
- Designed for high speed interception, close-coast patrol, low-intensity maritime operations, Search & Rescue and maritime surveillance.
With commissioning of Indian Coast Guard Ship C-402, force level of the Indian Coast Guard has raised to 82 ships as well as boats and the target is to double this force by 2018.
