ITPA to be set up to address players’ concerns

A collective body of Indian tennis players named the Indian Tennis Players Association (ITPA) is being set up to address contemporary issues faced by the players in the country.

Objective:

  • ITPA will be a not-for-profit association, modelled on the functioning of the ATP, which encourages players to make decisions for the benefit of the sport.
  • Address contemporary issues faced by the players in the country.

Why the need for ITPA ?

  • The founding members feel that the existing structure of tennis administration doesn’t represent or adequately address contemporary issues faced by the players in the country.

The association has extended membership to all current and former national and international players through a process of registration.
