Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has recently lifted the ban of movement of onion supplies, that were already contracted for by the importers of Bangladesh.
Earlier, the DGFT banned all exports of Onion following shortage and sudden increase in prices in the domestic market. After Bangladesh had formally complained about the exports of the commodity, India has lifted the ban.

Social Media Giant Facebook has recently launched Facebook Business Suite’, a new interface for people to manage their small businesses.
The people who operate their businesses on Facebook and Instagram can manage their profiles and advertisements, including boosting their posts, using a single interface. They can receive all business-related notification and alerts in one interface.

The Epidemic Diseases Amendment Bill, 2020 has been recently passed in the Rajya Sabha, to bring a law, that punishes those who attack Health workers or Doctors who are fighting the coronavirus outbreak or a similar situation. It provides for up to five years in jail for the act.

The Department of Science and Technology and the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is to organise Vaishwik Bharatiya Vaigyanik (VAIBHAV) Summit.
This virtual summit is to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister on 2nd October 2020. A month-long session with webinars will be organised with non-resident Indian (NRI) scientists, to solve emerging challenges in India.

The 13th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) has commenced at Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.
Rohit Sharma led Mumbai Indians will take on M.S Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings in the opening match of the IPL. Due to the Covid-19 crisis, the tournament has been shifted to the Gulf country and will be held in three venues: Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Dubai. It will be a complete TV- only event.
