‘Harit Path’: mobile app launched to oversee plantations along National Highways
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Sh. Nitin Gadkari launched a mobile app named ‘Harit Path’ to conduct monitoring operation of the plantation along the national highways through Geo-tagging and web-based GIS-enabled tools.

- In the virtual meeting on the context of ‘New Green Highways Policy (Plantation)’, the road transport ministry also discussed the need for utilization of modern and green technologies in highway construction as well as reduction of road-building costs by 25%.
- ‘Harit Bharat Sankalp’ initiative has been undertaken by NHAI.

National Highways Authority of India designed this app to monitor and collect information about locations, growth, details of the species, maintenance operations, targets, and achievements of the field units for the plantation projects.
