GoI launches “Accelerate Vigyan” scheme

On July 1, 2020, an inter-ministerial scheme called “Accelerate Vigyan” was launched by SERB operating under Government of India. The scheme is to provide an integrated platform for Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), workshops and capacity building programmes.

Highlights

The primary objective of the scheme is to give thrust on encouraging high-end scientific research and manpower that will lead to a knowledge-based economy.

Key Features

The scheme will identify research potential, mentors and provide hands on training on a national scale.

Goals of the scheme

The following are the three main goals of the scheme

  • To consolidate the scientific programmes in the country
  • To initiate high-end orientation workshops
  • To create opportunities for research interns those do not have access to resources.

Mobile Applications

The institution SERB, that is implementing the scheme is to launch an application to bring fast success. The institution has already started to call applications for the process under its ABHYAAS scheme

ABHYAAS scheme

The ABHYAAS scheme was launched to boost research and development. The scheme has two components namely Karyashala and Vritika. Karyashala comducts high-end workshops and Vritika is a research internship programme.
