One in 10 COVID-19 cases in US are nursing home residents

Nursing home residents account for nearly one in ten of all COVID-19 cases in the United States and more than a quarter of the deaths. The US currently has the highest number of COVID-19 cases in the world. About 1.4 million older and medically frail people live in the nursing homes in the US. The country recorded nearly 179,000 suspected or confirmed cases and 29,497 deaths among the residents. These figures is about 95% of nursing homes.
