NBA Legend Kobe Bryant dies in Helicopter Crash 

41- year-old Former United States professional basketball player Kobe Bryant died in a helicopter crash near Los Angeles on Sunday 26th January 2020. Bryant born in Philadelphia was named the USA TODAY’s boys high school player of the year in 1996 and went on to play in the National Basketball Association (NBA) with the Los Angeles Lakers, throughout his 20 years career before retiring in the year 2016 as a five-time NBA champion. He entered the NBA directly from high school and went on to play an important role in winning the Gold Medal for his country twice in Beijing Olympics(2008) and London Olympics (2012).

Bryant was on board the helicopter with eight others, including his 13-year-old daughter Gianna Bryant during the crash. The sudden demise of one of the greatest basketball players in history was mourned by basketball enthusiasts all over the world. Post-retirement from his basketball career, Bryant went on to win the Oscar in the year 2018 for his short animated film named ‘Dear Basketball’.
