Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2020 awarded on 24th January
The President of India, Ram Nath Kovind awarded the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar, 2020 to 49 children under various fields such as innovation, social service, scholastic activities, sports, art & culture and bravery in the age group of 5 to 18 years at a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi.
The Bal Puraskar is presented by the President of India on behalf of the Government of India every year at New Delhi to recognize the special achievements of children under various fields in which the award carries a medal, a certificate, a citation and a cash price worth Rs. 1 Lakh.
The Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar award was instituted by the Ministry of Women and Child Development and is given under two categories which are Bal Shakti Puraskar and BalKalyanPuraskar. Bal Shakti Puraskar is awarded to meritorious children while BalKalyanPuraskar is awarded to individuals and institutions who have contributed to child welfare. This year 22 children have been selected for National Bravery Award, to be awarded from the President on Saturday, 25th January 2020.
