Renowned Hindi writer Mudrarakshasa passes away

Renowned Hindi novelist and critique Mudrarakshas passed away due to old age related causes in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. He was 82.
He was distinguished Hindi writer, activist, thinker and cultural personality. His write-ups invariably hinged on various vital social issues and causes.

About Mudrarakshasa

• He was born as Subhash Chandra in Behta near Lucknow in 1931. He was rechristened as Mudrarakshasa by his teacher Dr Devendra when he had started writing.
• He graduated from Lucknow University and later worked as as Assistant Editor of Hindi Journal Gyanodaya, that was published from Calcutta from 1955 to 1958.
• He was the editor of Calcutta based magazine Anuvrata and was also associated with All India Radio (AIR) as Editor from 1962 to 1976.
• He has about 30 stage productions to his credit and his works of theatrical criticism include Rang Bhumikayen and a book on Nemichandra Jain.
