BHEL commissions 195 MW unit at Muzaffarpur

Public Sector Power equipment manufacturer Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has commissioned 195 MW unit at Muzaffarpur Thermal Power Station in Bihar.
This is the second 195 MW unit to be commissioned by BHEL at the 2×195 MW Muzaffarpur Thermal Power Station Stage-II of Kanti Bijlee Utpadan Nigam Limited (KBUNL).
KBUNL is a joint venture (JV) of NTPC (National Thermal Power Corporation) and BSPGCL (Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited). The first 195 MW unit was commissioned in March, 2015.
For this thermal power plant, BHEL had envisaged design, manufacturing, engineering, supply, erection and commissioning of steam turbines, generators and boilers, along with associated auxiliaries etc.
It should be note that BHEL is the leading supplier of coal-based main plant equipment to NTPC and its joint ventures. It has an over 80% share in their installed capacity in them.
