To date, 1.03 crore smart LED streetlights under the SLNP scheme have been installed and 36.13 crores LED bulbs under the UJALA initiative have been distributed across India.

Apart from this, the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan(GSA) was implemented in 2018 by the Central Government in which a significantly large number of rural households from 21,058 villages across India were able to purchase LED bulbs at a subsidized rate.
