India’s First Online Waste Exchange Portal launched in Chennai

The Greater Chennai Corporation under the Smart City Mission has launched the first online waste exchange portal in the country, under which buyers and sellers of different kinds of waste will be connected. The first-of-its-kind online portal will allow the residents of Chennai to buy and sell recycled and reuseable products online.
The portal will offer a variety of products, all listed by the residents as both buyer and seller such as school bags, slippers, etc. The products will be available across 210 resource recovery points in the city. As a seller, a person will need to drop the product they wish to sell in any of the resource recovery points as per their convenience and the buyers will have an option to purchase the products from the portal by using online payment options such as debit and credit cards.
