CSIR, India and CNRS, France signed MoU
The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) with the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), France at New Delhi on Tuesday, 17th December 2019 that will establish a framework for cooperation between the two Research Organisations for promotion and support in the field of scientific and technological research.
The MoU will be beneficial for exploring the further potential and in synergistic cooperation possibilities between CSIR and CNRS.
Both organizations will be strengthening their cooperation to foster joint innovations and transfer of technologies to India or/and France and to other nations(based on mutual interests). This cooperation could include sharing good practices, enhancing industry-academia cooperation and promoting technology transfer.
Under Broader research areas under mutual interests include biotechnology(plant and marine), environmental and climate change studies, material science and technology, water research, energy science and technology, engineering science and technology and health research.
CSIR is an autonomous body under the administrative supervision of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India and it is the largest publically funded multi-disciplinary industrial Research and Development organization in India.
