Anita Anand became Canada’s first Hindu Cabinet minister
2019 Canadian federal election, was held on 21st October 2019, the Liberal party under the leadership of incumbent Prime Minister Justin Trudeau emerged as the single largest party by winning 157 of the 338 seats at the Canadian House of Commons.
Anita Anand was elected from Oakville as a Member of Parliament, was named as the new federal Minister of Public Services and Procurement in the Canadian government.
About Anita Anand:
Indo-Canadian Anita, was born and raised in Kentville, Nova Scotia,moved to Ontario in 1985, is a Professor of Law at University of Toronto.she also served as the Director of Policy and Research at the Capital Markets Research Institute, Rotman School of Management, and as an Associate Dean and was a member of the Governing Board of Massey College.
Educational Career- Anita holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Jurisprudence from the University of Oxford, a Bachelor of Laws from Dalhousie University, a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Studies from Queen’s University, and a Master of Laws from the University of Toronto.
