PCI urges media to do objective reporting on polls

PCI (Press Council of India) have issued some guidelines for media to do objective reporting on election polls and warned it against the practice of paid news. As per the guidelines, newspapers are not expected to indulge in unhealthy election campaigns, reports about candidate or party during the election period. PCI has warned media to publish false statements unverified allegations associated with personal character and conduct of any candidate.
