GoI: Guidelines for Quarantine issued

On April 5, 2020, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare issued guidelines for quarantine. According to the guidelines, the quarantine is separation and restriction of movement. It shall be applied to an individual or a group of persons.

Key Highlights of Quarantine

The Quarantine shall be preferably placed in the outskirts.
The Quarantine facilities are labeled as follows
- Low Risk Areas-They are the areas that have less direct contact with the evacuees.
- Moderate risk areas-They are the areas where the suspects use pillow, linen, clothes. In other words, there are contaminated surfaces that might come in contact with the attending health personnel
- High risk areas-They are also called containment quarantine camp. These areas include the sample collection room, medical examination room, bathroom areas, areas of bio-waste collection, disposal, etc.
The Health care professionals from now on should be trained according to these guidelines.
The Quarantine people are tested twice a day, in the morning and evening. They are placed in quarantine for 14 days and are discharged after a final test.
