Government of Haryana provides Rs 15 lakhs to Olympic participants and Rs 6 crore to winners

On February 16, 2020, the State Government of Haryana announced that it will provide Rs 6 crores to gold medal winners at Olympic Games. The cash money prize is only for players representing Haryana.

Highlights

The State Government of Haryana has offered to provide the Olympic players with prize money. It will provide Rs 15 lakhs to every player participating at the Olympic Games 2020. The Government has also increased the prize money for players participating at Asian Games and Common Wealth Games.

The Gold Medalists of Asian Games are to be provided with Rs 3 crores. The winners of Common Wealth Games are to be provided with Rs 1.5 crores.

Above all, the stadium of the players are also to be provided with 10% of the amount received by the players

Pension

The Government has also announced pension system for the players. This is an additional assistance to players apart from the cash money. Also, the government will provide pension to national award winners such as Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Awards, Dhyanchand and Arjuna Awards
