Patna Pirates wins 3rd season of Pro Kabaddi League

Patna Pirates has won the third season of Star Sports Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) by defeating U Mumba.
In the final match played at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi, Patna Pirates defeated U Mumba by 31-28 score in the thrilling 40 minute play.

Rohit Kumar (Patna Pirates) was awarded Best Raider and Mohit Chillar (U Mumba) was awarded Best Defender of the Match. In this season, Rishank Devadiga (U Mumba) finished as the most successful raider with 106 points. Puneri Paltan was placed at the third place after defeating Bengal Warriors.
Patna Pirates team is owned by Rajesh Shah and play their home matches at the Patliputra Sports Complex, Patna.

About Pro Kabaddi League (PKL)

  • PKL is a professional Kabaddi (indigenous sport) league based on the format of the Indian Premier League (IPL) T20 cricket tournament.
  • It is known as the Star Sports Pro Kabaddi for sponsorship reasons. It is currently managed by Mashal Sports.
  • The first edition of the tournament was played in 2014 with eight franchises representing various cities in India. It was won by Jaipur Pink.
