Vikas Thapar appointed as Vice President of Micromax
Homegrown smartphone maker Micromax has appointed Vikas Thapar as its Vice-President for Finance.
In his new role, Thapar will be responsible for strengthening the company’s asset and revenue base. He will also responsible for steering external relationship developments with key partners including bankers, investors, equity partners and the government.
He will also look after company’s financial and management accounting, financial resourcing and fund syndication, and group operations.
Prior to this appointment, Thapar was executive director at Avocado Management Services. He also has worked with Bharti Airtel, One97 Communications (PayTm) and Morepen Laboratories

- Micromax is consumer Electronics Company with the business of manufacturing of Mobile phones, Smartphones, Tablet Computers and LED Televisions.
- It is headquartered in Gurgaon, Haryana. It was started in 2000 as an IT software company and worked on embedded platforms.
- Later it started manufacturing low cost mobile and featured smartphones. Micromax is the tenth largest handset seller in the world as of Q3 2014.
