Odisha sets up special entity 'State level Facilitation Cell (SLFC)' to fast track Investment approvals

The Odisha government has set up a special entity State level Facilitation Cell (SLFC) to fast track approvals through hassle free Single Window Clearance for investment projects.
To speed up the investment proposals SLFC has categorised companies in two broad categories — green and non-green.
The companies under Green category are largely comprises of agri-based industries, cottage industries, food-processing, textiles, chemicals, building materials, and consumer goods.
For the Green category projects SLFC will provide clearances within 15 days whereas, all other industrial projects placed under the non-green category would receive approvals within 30 days.
The formation of SLFC was done in line with to make Odisha one of the most favoured destinations for investors which lagged behind to attract big ticket investors and to promote ease of doing business in the state.

About State level Facilitation Cell (SLFC):

  • The Board consist of member from Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Idco), State Pollution Control Board (SPCB), Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Ltd (OPTCL), directorate of factories and boilers, water resources department on a full-time basis and representatives of national level industry association to mentor and guide investors.
  • The members will monitor the general and special conditions of approved project proposals and facilitate their timely implementation.
