Rural Circuit under Swadesh Darshan Scheme
The Union Minister of State (independent charge) of Culture and Tourism, Prahlad Singh Patel in a written reply at the lower house of the parliament, Lok Sabha on Monday, 9th December 2019 informed that the Ministry of Tourism has recognized the potential for the development of rural tourism in the country and has identified ‘Rural Circuit’ as one of the 15 thematic circuits under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme.
Two projects have been sanctioned under the Rural Circuit: one in the state of Bihar, the project has been named as “Development of Gandhi Circuit” Bhitiharwa- Chandrahia Turkaulia. Another in Kerela named “Development of Rural Circuit: Malanad Malabar Cruice Tourism Project”
The Ministry is promoting Rural Tourism related products and tourism destinations through its websites and promotional material, and through publicity.
Swadesh Darshan and PRASHAD schemes are launched by the Ministry of Tourism under the Government of India for the development of tourism-related facilities and infrastructure in the country.
