Ms Nielsan joined the Trump administration in 2017. She worked as an assistant to the then Homeland Security chief John Kelly. She had faced strong condemnation for holding children at the border and also was questioned by the Democrats for the issue. She was also booed when she had food at a Mexican restaurant in 2018.
The American newspapers sense inland conflicts taking place in the White house. Her name would always be associated with the Trump administration on family separation border policy. These moves also suggest more confrontational approach to the border security.
