SLR is the reserves that bank keep with themseleves. So no interest because they themselves keep that for statutory requirements.
Reserve Bank of India does not pay any interest on the CRR balances maintained by Scheduled Commercial Bank's with effect from June 24, 2006 as per the amendment carried out to RBI Act 1934, omitting sub-section (1B) of section 42. Further, Reserve Bank of India does not pay any interest on the CRR balances maintained by Scheduled PCBs (Primary Cooperative Banks) with effect from March 31, 2007. So this statement is correct
