Which country grows maximum Alfalfa in world?
Alfalfa is a perennial leguminous fodder-plant also known as lucerne. It has long tap-roots, a mass of branching stems, and purple flowers that grow up into small pods. It can withstand drought, heat and cold, and has capacity for dense growth. So it can produce very high yields per acre, as much as 10 tons used as green fodder, silage and hay. About half the world’s total produce is grown in U.S.A., and a further 40% in Argentina.
