How the Sykes-picot agreement and the Berlin conference were similar or different from each other?
The Berlin Conference was a series of meetings held in 1884 and 1885. It is also known as the Congo Conference or West Africa Conference and regulated European colonization and trade in Africa during the New Imperialism period and coincided with Germany’s sudden emergence as an imperial power. It was called for by Portugal and organized by Otto Von Bismarck, the first Chancellor of Germany. As a result of this Conference, this period saw an upsurge in the colonial activities by European powers in Africa, seriously affecting the autonomy and self-governance of most of the African countries.

The negotiations that led to this agreement was entered into between November 1915 and March 1916 and it was finally signed on 16 May 1916.The deal was published to the public in Izvestia and Pravada on 23 November 1917 and in the British Guardian on November 26, 1917.
