John Berger (90), the British art critic and prodigious author,has recently passed away in Paris, France. He was best-known work for his work BBC series “Ways of Seeing”, a criticism of western cultural aesthetics and also won the Man Booker Prize for his novel G and donated half the prize money to the radical African-American movement, the Black Panthers. Berger was born in Hackney, north London and began his career as a painter.
