Points of Presence in National Knowledge Network
The NKN will have about 25 core Point of Presence (PoPs) and 600 secondary PoPs. In the initial phase, a core backbone consisting of 15 Points of Presence (PoP) have been established with 2.5 Gbps capacity. Around 40 institutions of higher learning and advanced research have already been connected to the network and six virtual classrooms set up. The NKN will have about 25 core PoPs and 600 secondary PoPs. It will connect around 1,500 institutions. Core network will be completed within two years.

Yearbook of Industrial Statistics 2010 says that in 2009, India overtook Canada, Brazil and Mexico and moved up to the ninth position, three places up from the 12th position it held in 2008. The top 10 are the U.S., China, Japan, Germany, the Republic of Korea, France, Italy, the U.K., India and Brazil. U.S., China, Japan account for 50% of world’s manufacturing output.

    Good morning Sir,

    I have some doubt on question in quiz 325 like..
    1. India rank in steel production in the world? (3rd or 4th, b'cos in your quiz its Ans was 4th but I have read in some magazine in which it position is 3rd)
    2. Which Indian state set up the first E-court? (Its Ans given by you was Gujarat but same case in some magazine its Ans is Delhi)
    3. Which among the following represents the per capita income (per capita net national income at factor cost) in real terms, i.e. at 2004-05 prices, as per latest estimates of CSO (Central Statistical Organization) for 2008-09 ? (you have given its Ans is Rs. 31,821 but in PD its ans Rs. 40141)
