7th Military World Games being held in China
The 2019 Military World Games (also known as Olympic Games for military) is being held from 18–27 October 2019 in the capital of Hubei Province, Wuhan, China. Its opening ceremony was held on 18 October 2019 and the event was officially inaugurated by Chinese President Xi Jinping.
About Military World Games
The games are officially known as 7th CISM Military World Games. It is top multi-sport event for military personnel from across the globe.
Following the conclusion of 2015 Military World Games (held in South Korea), China won the bid to host the Games for the first time in 2015.
7th Military World Games 2019
Besides being the first international military multi-sport event to be held in China, it is also the largest ever military sports event to be held in China.
Organized by: Military Sports Commission of China, Ministry of National Defense of People’s Republic of China (PRC) and military commands (Army) in accordance with CISM regulations and rules of International Sports Federations (ISF).
For the first time in history of Military World Games, an Olympic village is set up for participating athletes prior to commencement of Games.

More than 10,000 athletes from over 140 countries are scheduled to compete in 329 events in 27 sports. The multi-sport event includes 25 official and 2 demonstrative sports and 6 new sport disciplines like table tennis, badminton, tennis, men’s gymnastics and women’s boxing are set to make their debuts in event.
China’s has sent 553 persons delegation for participating in games, which would mark record number of participants to represent a nation at a single Military World Games. Nearly, 230,000 volunteers were recruited for event to be staged in China.
India has sent a delegation of around 100 soldiers selected from 3 wings of armed forces to participate in World Military Games.
