5th International Tourism Mart begins in Imphal
5th International Tourism Mart organized by the Ministry of Tourism in association with the North Eastern States and West Bengal has begun in Imphal, Manipur. It will be held between 23– 25 November 2016.
International Tourism Mart is an annual event organized in the North Eastern region of the country to highlight the tourism potential of that region in both domestic and international markets. The event is annually organized in the North Eastern States on rotation basis. Earlier editions of the event took place in Guwahati, Tawang, Shillong and Gangtok.
The event facilitates interaction between tourism business fraternity, entrepreneurs, buyers, sellers, media, government agencies and other stakeholders to engage in one-to-one meetings. This will help the tourism product suppliers of the region to reach out to the domestic and international markets. 57 buyer delegations from countries like Japan, Australia, Japan, US, UK, Brazil, Canada are participating in the mart.
The North East region of India with its varied topography, rich flora, fauna, and ethnic communities with a rich heritage, lifestyles, festivals, arts, and crafts have been endowed with diverse tourist attractions and products waiting to be explored.
