Tamil Nadu’s NEEDS-SIM

The state government of Tamil Nadu unveiled the New Entrepreneur-cum-Enterprise Development Scheme – Special Initiative for Migrants (NEEDS-SIM). It is the extension of the NEEDS scheme that is helping first-generation entrepreneurs. This scheme is expected to promote entrepreneurship among 3.6 lakh Tamil foreign returnees. The beneficiaries of this scheme are those who have returned to the southern state from foreign countries since January 1, 2020. This initiative aims to exploit foreign returnees’ expertise in economic growth promotion.
