The “Doomsday Clock”
The “Doomsday Clock” portrays the threats faced by the Earth and the mankind. It was created in 1947 with hands being at seven minutes before midnight. The hands of the Doomsday Clock measure the vulnerability of the world to a catastrophe. The board members from the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists decide on the hands’ position. They recently announced that the hands will retain the last year’s position of 100 seconds to midnight.
