3rd US India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) Summit
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will deliver a special keynote address at the third US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) Annual Leadership Summit. It is a 5-day summit that began on August 31, 2020 with the theme “US-India Navigating New Challenges”. It covers various subjects such as India’s potential in becoming a Global Manufacturing Hub, Opportunities in India’s Gas Market, Ease of Doing Business to attract FDI in India, Common Opportunities and Challenges in Tech Space. It also covers the Indo-Pacific Economic issues, Innovation in Public Health and others.
What is USISPF?
The USISPF is a non-profit organization. It works for the partnership between India and the US and was established in 2017. Its purpose is also to enable businesses and government to collaborate and create meaningful opportunities that can positively change the lives of citizens
How the forum strengthens India-Us ties?
The USISPF plays a significant role in creating a robust and dynamic relationship between the two countries through policy advocacy. It aims to drive economic growth, entrepreneurship, employment-creation, and innovation to create a more inclusive society. It is a win-win partnership. The forum is mutually dependent geo-politically, trade, culturally, diplomatically and scientifically. The forum has said that sectors like defence trade, commercial aircraft, oil and LNG, coal, machinery and electronics are areas of potential growth in US investments and commerce into India. According to the forum estimates, India-US bilateral trade is projected to grow to 238 billion dollars by 2025. Aggressive and assertive China provides further opportunity for both nations to collaborate and ensure international rule of law prevails.
