‘1t.org’ launched during 50th Annual Meeting of WEF

During the 50th World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2020 recently being held at Davos, the World Economic Forum along with its partners launched a platform called 1t.org, to support and conserve 1 trillion trees around the world. The plan was announced by the Founder and Executive Chairman of WEF, Klaus Schwab. For a mass scale nature restoration, 1t.org project will aim to unite non-governmental organizations, corporate business and individuals apart from the governments. Klaus Schwab said that in order to meet global challenges of climate and biodiversity, in the upcoming decades there is a need for unprecedented levels of collaboration across the globe which will also led countries achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The United States also joined the scheme, which is a major initiative to restore the planet and tackle climate crises. The initiative will also support other initiatives and organizations which work to conserve and restore forests. It unifies the platform and provide political support and helps in mobilizing funds.
